These terms cover your use of Macro M8 (the "app", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect separately — these terms cover the rest of the relationship.

The short version

Macro M8 plans meals and estimates macros based on what you tell it — it's a planning tool, not a medical or dietetic service, and it doesn't replace a doctor or registered dietitian.
First 30 days are free, then it's £9.99/month, billed by Stripe. Cancel any time before the trial ends and you won't be charged; cancel after and you keep access until the current billing period ends.
You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for the accuracy of what you enter (especially allergies and dietary needs).
We send you to the real supermarket's own site to actually check out — that transaction is between you and them, not us.
We can suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service; you can delete your account and data at any time from Account settings.

Who this is for

Macro M8 is intended for adults (18+) planning their own meals and nutrition. By using the app, you confirm you're at least 18 years old.

The service

Macro M8 generates meal plans and shopping lists based on the goal, body stats, dietary preferences, and allergies you provide, and estimates the calories, macros, and cost involved. Estimates are calculated using standard formulas (BMR/TDEE) and ingredient-level nutrition data — they're a reasonable starting point, not a guarantee of accuracy, and not a substitute for advice from a doctor, registered dietitian, or other qualified professional. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or have specific dietary needs beyond what the app's allergy/diet settings cover, check with a professional before relying on the app's plan.

Your account

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide (particularly allergies and dietary restrictions, since meal selection relies on them being correct) and for keeping your login details secure. Let us know if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

Subscriptions and billing

Macro M8 offers a 30-day free trial, then £9.99/month. A card is required to start the trial. You can cancel any time before the trial ends from Account → Manage billing and you won't be charged. If you cancel after being charged, you keep access until the end of the current billing period, but we don't offer refunds for partial periods. Billing itself is handled entirely by Stripe under their own terms at stripe.com/legal — we never see or store your card details.

Shopping and third-party supermarkets

Macro M8 builds a shopping list and estimated price, then sends you to your chosen supermarket's own website or app to actually complete the purchase. We don't place orders on your behalf, don't process that payment, and aren't a party to that transaction — it's between you and the supermarket, under their own terms and pricing, which can differ from our estimate.

Acceptable use

Don't use Macro M8 to do anything illegal, try to access other users' data, attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service, or use it in a way that could put someone's health at risk (for example, deliberately entering false allergy information for someone else's account). We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate this.

Intellectual property

The app, its design, and its underlying content belong to Macro M8. Your own data — your profile, plans, and history — belongs to you; using the service doesn't transfer ownership of it to us.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Macro M8 is provided "as is". We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its nutritional estimates will be perfectly accurate. To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app, including decisions made based on its calorie/macro estimates or on pricing shown for third-party supermarkets. Nothing in these terms limits liability for things that can't legally be limited, like death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Ending your account

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Account settings — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that does and doesn't remove. We can also suspend or terminate an account for a serious breach of these terms, and will try to give notice where reasonably possible.

Changes to these terms

If we make a material change, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
